Our award-winning 100% organic cotton 5-Second Swaddle takes the guesswork out of swaddling with a secure wrap...every time—and our Sleepea Comforter Swaddle safely adds extra warmth. And because Sleepea was created by world-renowned pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp, you can trust that every detail was designed with baby safety and parent sanity in mind!

Machine wash in cool or cold water with like colors. Never use hot water or chlorine bleach. Tumble dry on a low heat setting (remove promptly), making sure to dry the sack completely or air dry for best results!

Please Note: Before putting Sleepea Comforter Swaddle in the washer, always attach the arm bands & leg flap to each other and zip the sack completely closed. That will avoid damage that might be caused by the fastener clinging to other items in the load.

Step 1

Place Baby on Sleepea with shoulders about two inches above the neckline and arms straight at sides.

Is Comforter Sleepea a warm swaddle blanket?

Yes! Comforter Sleepea is the same award-winning Sleepea swaddle parents and babies love, but it’s made with insulated organic cotton to keep your little one safely snug and warm during chilly nights and nippy naps! Comforter Sleepea has a Thermal Overall Grade (TOG) rating of 2.0, which makes this warm swaddle sack ideal for cool temperatures.

What’s the difference between a warm swaddle blanket and a newborn swaddle sack?

There are two key differences between the original Sleepea swaddle and the new Comforter Sleepea. Our Comforter swaddle is insulated for extra warmth, making it the go-to swaddle sack for chilly naps and night sleeps. Plus, its innovative two-way zipper is set off-center to avoid uncomfortable and bulky zipper-on-zipper layering over Baby’s PJs!

Is a swaddle warm enough for a newborn?

A swaddle alone is usually not warm enough for your newborn. For most sleeps, you’ll need to dress your little one in a cotton bodysuit or cotton pajamas before wrapping them in their swaddle blanket. And the swaddle you choose matters, too. You should always choose a breathable cotton swaddle, no matter the season. (Fleece is not breathable and can cause overheating.) Consider going with the original Sleepea for average to warmer temps and the Comforter Sleepea Swaddle for cooler to cold weather, like when your baby’s room is 68 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.

Can a swaddle sack be too warm?

Yes! Swaddle blankets made from synthetic fabrics, like fleece, are not breathable and can cause your little one to overheat. But even non-fleece swaddles can be too warm for your baby. That’s why it’s important to make sure your swaddle is appropriate for the season and the temperature inside your baby’s room. For instance, it’s recommended to wrap your baby in a breathable, lightweight cotton swaddle, like Sleepea, in average to warm temperatures. And when it’s cool to cold out, opt for an insulated, but still breathable swaddle, like the Comforter Sleepea, which clocks a 2.0 TOG rating. (Choose your swaddle based on the temperature in your little one’s room, not outside.)

How do I know the right level of warmth for a sleep sack?

While there are many sleep sack and baby swaddle options available these days, here are a few rules to follow to ensure you sleep sack is the right level of warmth:

Opt for a lightweight, breathable, 100% cotton swaddle in average temps and in the summertime. (Dress Baby in a cotton bodysuit or PJs underneath.)
For cooler to cold evenings, you still want a sleep sack or swaddle that’s made of 100% breathable cotton…but you also want it to be filled with light insulation. (Look for a 2.0 TOG rating.)
Avoid fleece! Synthetic fleece swaddles and sleep sacks aren’t breathable and can increase the baby’s risk of overheating in their sleep.

How do I know if Baby is too cold at night?

Check your baby and the thermostat to know if your little one is too cold at night. If any of the following rings true, chances are your little one is feeling chilly:

Room temperature is 67 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.
Baby’s cheeks, neck, arms, or legs are cool to the touch. Baby’s skin is blotchy or pale.
They seem overly sleepy or are hard to rouse.
Baby is extra fussy or wakes up more frequently than usual.

To warm your baby up, try some skin-to-skin snuggles and adjust the thermostat so the temperature of your little one’s room is between 68 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit. At the same time, swap out your warm weather swaddle for one that’s lightly insulated with a TOG rating of 2.0, like the Comforter Sleepea.

Sleep was an all out battle with our newborn until we put her in this swaddle! She had no problem sleeping in her bassinet with this swaddle on! It grew with her from both arms swaddled, one arm out, to finally both arms out. My only complaint was that they sold out and I was unable to the the next size up! Thankfully, there was a restock and I snagged a few more! Love this product!

Great for newborn

Perfect for my newborn. Swaddle and zipper keeps her asleep and on her back. She already wanted to sleep on her side at days old and other swaddles let her roll to the side. Ordered additional ones for her to grow into, as well as the lighter sleeper for summer.
