Question regarding the “Calming Reflex” technique on The Happiest Baby video.
Double check that you are swaddling your daughter snuggly enough using a large, thin blanket so that she is unable to pop out. Also, are you using a strong white noise as loud as a shower throughout the night & for the duration of naps? Dr. Karp highly recommends his CD of white noise, especially tracks 2 or 3.
Are you using movement? Either a light jiggling motion or putting your daughter in the swing as described on the DVD (swaddled & safely buckled, at a fast speed, with white noise playing in the background, etc). The CD of white noise is great to use for at least the first 12 months and many parents use it for years to come! It helps getting babies into a deeper sleep so they don’t wake up with teething, etc. which begins around 4 -6 months of age.
