Product Review: The Happiest Toddler on the Block – DVD
After watching “The Happiest Toddler on the Block” DVD, I was feeling a little bit silly about trying the main tip that Dr. Harvey Karp, M.D. recommends for stopping toddler’s tantrums. But, of course I was also very excited to give it a try.
Not only did I learn (effective!) methods to reduce the number of tantrums and the length of tantrums, but I also learned great and simple tools on how to:
- teach my toddler patience!
- boost her confidence and cooperation,
- sinc up with her emotions,
- communicate more effectively with her,
- and how to make her feel understood.
These were just a few of the things that Dr. Harvey Karp, M.D. touched base on in this approximately 45 minute DVD (+ more in Q and A’s). He also has a book, “The Happiest Toddler on the Block“, which can also help you refine your skills further.
When I use the tools with Kaili, she seems to stop in her” tantrums, and look at me with this expression of, “Wow, Mommy really gets what I am feeling!” And the testimonials of other families in the video are amazing. Parents found that on average they were able to stop 60-90% of tantrums before they happen even.
This DVD shows you real-live practices with real toddlers and their parents, as they are being guided and taught by Dr. Karp.
What a great feeling to know that you can allow your toddler to have their feelings, and also to be able to connect to them, make they feel respected, and them be able to guide them (not distract them) towards our destination.
This is a DVD Safbaby recommends. We love that The Happiest Toddler on the Block, by Dr. Harvey Karp, M.D. gives parent’s safe alternatives to distracting our toddler’s out of their tantrums, which can leave them believing that their feelings are not important, and that they are not being respected.
