Does the book contain any information on when to put the baby on a schedule and when to let the baby cry?
The main focus of The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and book is to teach parents how to respond to crying/fussy babies so they are able to calm crying within minutes, if not seconds and help sleep and extra 1-3 hours a night. Dr. Karp suggests you watch DVD first to really master the calming techniques and then carefully read the book as it does contain additional information about scheduling, etc.

- We did not know about The Happiest Baby on the Block when our son was born and suffered through months of sleep deprivation & post-partum depression as we couldn’t soothe him. - My daughter suddenly bursts into crying that sounds like she is in pain even when she is swaddled. This happens after we use one or all of the 5 S’s….any suggestions?

My baby is 6 months old and takes 30 to 40 min naps several times a day. We swaddled and used 5s’s in the beginning but she seem to grow out of them. Should she be taking longer naps and what method do you recommend to get them to sleep at naps and bedtime?
